Create Honest Black Friday Ads to Reflect the Economic Climate
I have been a huge fan of honesty in Advertising. I know, It sounds like an oxymoron. It is strange that telling the absolute truth is considered “daring”. I feel that if more people did it they would actually see some positive results. I know I would probably go back to some brands that lost me some time ago, if they would only just tell the truth.

Having fun with Google Street View
We have all heard the stories and seen the pics of couples having sex and other strange things in street view. I thought it was very clever to try to add a new type of surreal world as seen in this story and documentary.
Google Street View: The musical extravaganza | Webware : Cool Web apps for everyone - CNET
Earlier this year artists Robin Hewlett and Ben Kinsley teamed up with Google to create what might be the oddest thing caught on Street View, Google Maps’ virtual man-on-the-street service. Hewlett and Kinsley managed to get a large group of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, locals together to participate in a variety of activities on-camera, including organized jogging, a sword fight, and a parade–complete with band instruments and uniforms. All the while Google’s Street View car captured every moment.
Big Fish Story
Portland ad agency strives to maintain edgy yet understated hometown profile overseas.
Practice makes perfect.
I really believe this is very accurate. It basically talks about people that work in the creative world have a learning curve and that we all will grow if we work hard at it. Our skills will eventually catch up to our taste. I can remember never being happy with my early work. Heck, I feel I have a long way to go still. It’s always good to hear that other people go through the same struggles.
Designspeaks: Modern Dog
I had the opportunity to see the peeps from Modern Dog speak about their experiences. I loved the very informal vibe of this event. It was my second time in the years to see them speak. It is a new series from the local AIGA that I helped volunteer with. I would highly recommend that you take the time to see them if you have the opportunity. After words I actually purchased their new book Modern Dog: 20 Years of Poster Art. I even thought it was a great opportunity to to have everyone that contributed to the book sign it. I don’t normally pull such a lame thing as getting autographs. But, they had fun with it.
Here is an overview of the event.
Art?

I believe art has been hijacked by some people. Not all art just some that see it as a commodity. I am in the process of spending a good amount of money on getting back to doing fine art. I am not doing it for anybody, but myself. I will probably do what I have done in the past… which is toss the finished pieces before anyone actually has a chance to view them. I have a long ways to go to get to my goal. I am struggling right now just to resolve what art is to me. What is art to you?
Book Art
I that this is an interesting way of using books. Being that I don’t make time for them… I think now that I don’t have time to read them… I should consider doing some art with them.

Some people come up with the greatest ideas for new businesses. Too bad folks… this couple has beat you to the punch with the video production business. Heck, you can tell from their promo video their mad skills.
